Foothold: GCSE English resit practice

Short practice, kind feedback and a class dashboard, for students working towards a grade 4.

The problem

Resit groups are large, attendance is patchy, and students arrive believing they can't pass. Teachers can't mark enough practice to change that.

• Feedback that opens with what the student did well, then gives exactly three next steps
• Voice answers, short mode and 15-second breakouts for short attention spans
• A road-to-a-pass meter instead of grade predictions
